My name is Andrew and I don't mind writing papers. I am a junior in A.P. Literature at Harper Creek High School and getting creative is my favorite way to write. I read a lot of science fiction and love to get consumed in the worlds that authors create. I don't know what else there is to say about me, but here are some interesting facts about me that will better define who I am.
I like to carve pumpkins.
Every year, when the last leaves have fallen and the moon is shining the brightest, my family and I go out to the pumpkin patch and pick the canvases for which to carve the greatest pumpkin carving ever seen by man. Well, maybe they aren't that great but we always try our best and have a great time swapping ideas and techniques to get the perfect glow for our gourds. It is one of my favorite times of the year and I plan on carving pumpkins every Halloween for the rest of my life.

I like to fly.
Ever since I received an R.C. helicopter with a camera from my grandfather (the one previously mentioned) I have been fascinated with seeing the land from a different perspective. I flew that helicopter around for months, taking pictures of roads, houses; once of my cousin of his quad, but I needed something that could take these aerial experiences to the next level so I began building something better. In the end, I had a 250 millimeter quadcopter that streams live video to a pair of first-person-view video goggles and can fly horizontally up to 60 miles per hour. R.C. flying unlocks a whole new perspective on what is around us.
That is why I like to fly.
That is why I like to fly.
I like to go.
The instinct to explore was most likely ingrained in me by my grandfather. He traveled the world through the Army, skydiving in Hawaii, hunting bears in Alaska; He did everything that a manly-man should do to be manly. He was stationed in Thailand, Germany, Hawaii, Alaska and enjoys camping and going somewhere new and exciting, even if that means taking a risk. My mother got to experience this form of erratic traveling throughout her childhood and it still shows today; my family's vacations don't involve relaxing on a beach but rather involve kayaking, hiking, and gaining new experiences. We go to some pretty interesting places and learn so much with every turn that I can't imagine vacationing any other way.

I hope my interests can help you better understand who I am and can be related to the papers I've written throughout A.P. Literature and Composition. I try to include my personal interests in my writing but sometimes prompts hold me back; either way, I hope you enjoy my writing!
